ClinEdge: What do you think everyone should know about clinical trials?
Jon: I believe that everyone should understand that clinical trials are highly regulated with patient safety as the top priority. The amount of regulation and testing involved prior to any clinical trial approval has opened my eyes to understand the safety involved in every clinical trial.
ClinEdge: What is your favorite part of your job?
Jon: My favorite part of my job would be my interactions with our research sites. I truly enjoy working closely with our sites and hearing their perspectives on each trial regarding their specific patient demographic and experience in the field.
ClinEdge: How did you get into the clinical research industry?
Jon: Pharmaceutical/biotech companies have always had a strong presence in the Boston area. I took on this opportunity as a way to learn more about the industry and to understand clinical research. With all the drugs in the market it has always been an interest of mine to know more about the process involved in their development.
ClinEdge: What have you learned about clinical research since starting this job?
Jon: Prior to joining ClinEdge, I was not in the clinical research industry, so many things were new to me. My role has exposed me to various aspects of clinical research and I’ve learned a great deal about the capabilities of different research sites and their involvement with drug development. Overall, I have learned that there are so many moving pieces for a trial to run successfully from start to finish and I am happy to know that I have contributed to that.
ClinEdge: If you won $1,000,000, what would you do with it?
Jon: If I won a million dollars, I would spend time traveling with friends and family.
ClinEdge: How do you define success?
Jon: I define success as being in a place where one does not define their job as “work” but rather as a place where they are able to spend their day pursuing their passions.
ClinEdge: Who inspires you?
Jon: My parents are biggest inspiration are my biggest inspiration. With them moving to the U.S. at a young age and seeing them navigate through their careers has been a huge inspiration and has taught me to maximize every opportunity presented to me, as you never know where it will lead.
