Much of my career has been spent in the healthcare industry as the CEO of a community hospital system and as the founder and CEO of a multi-state managed care organization. I have firsthand experience with the challenges facing community hospitals with the delivery of healthcare services. The most innovative healthcare and latest treatment modalities are often not accessible to those living in a small community. In many cases, people have to drive, or even fly, hours away from their homes and families to get the quality of care that comes with clinical trial participation. Conducting clinical research and the benefits associated with doing that should not be confined to the big city academic medical centers. So, I gathered some strong talent and started a company to provide the expertise to community hospitals that enables them and their physicians to build world class research programs and conduct some of the very same types of trials found in academic medical centers across the country.
