For years GuideStar has strongly advocated for having physicians and research staff complete Good Clinical Practices training through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). This program, through the University of Miami, was created to provide “research education materials to enhance the integrity and professionalism of investigators and staff conducting research.”
Because this program is comprehensive and provides good information for research veterans or physicians and staff just getting into research, it is a good way to demonstrate to sponsors of trials that you have the training required to complete those trials.
Recently. TransCelerate BioPharma, a non-profit organization focused on advancing innovation in research and development, established minimum criteria for good clinical practice training for research investigator site/ hospital personnel and staff. As part of this initiative, TransCelerate BioPharma has also recognized the CITI Program’s Good Clinical Practice for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Biologics as a top training program in the industry.
How clinical trials are conducted and the quality of the data provided are key to solid research results. We congratulate TransCelerate BioPharma for making an effort to standardize the baseline knowledge of persons involved in research with this recognition.
